Compact Artist Statement
In my work, I try to unite the natural, the inherent, the primitive, and the purely analog with the complex, the constructed, the technological, the virtual, and the metaphysical. Holistic, interdisciplinary questions play an important role in this, engaging with purely material and informational structures as well as psychosociological and anthropological aspects. At the center is the pulsation between the conceptual and the material, the self and the collective, the private and the public, the moment and the rest of time.
The nature and metamorphosis of the human being are called into question.
I am equally interested in the existence and perception, the definition and functioning of a “position” in both the informational and material sense, the mechanisms of interaction and communication, the role of creative processes, the production of experience and knowledge, as well as the form of documenting these processes and their effects on the present and the future. I also understand my actions and durational performances as forms of historiography or programming. The emergence of new forms of language, their mediality, archiving, and transmission, is something I find deeply fascinating and of great importance.

In meiner Arbeit versuche ich, das Natürliche, Eingeborene, Primitive und pur Analoge mit dem Komplexen, Konstruierten, Technologischen, Virtuellen und Metaphysischen zu vereinen. Dabei spielen holistische, interdisziplinäre Fragestellungen eine wichtige Rolle, in denen rein materielle und informatische Strukturen ebenso wie psychosoziologische und anthropologische Aspekte untersucht werden. Im Zentrum steht das Pulsieren zwischen dem Geistigen und dem Materiellen, dem Selbst und dem Kollektiv, dem Privaten und dem Öffentlichen, dem Augenblick und dem Rest der Zeit.
Die Natur und die Metamorphose des Menschen werden dabei in Frage gestellt.
Ebenso interessieren mich die Existenz und Wahrnehmung, die Definition und Funktionsweise einer „Position“ im informatischen und materiellen Sinne, die Mechanismen von Interaktion und Kommunikation, die Rolle kreativer Prozesse, der Erfahrungs- und Wissensproduktion sowie die Form der Dokumentation dieser Prozesse und ihre Auswirkungen auf Gegenwart und Zukunft. Meine Aktionen und Dauer-Performances verstehe ich auch als Formen von Geschichtsschreibung oder Programmierung. Die Entstehung neuer Sprachformen, deren Medialität, Archivierung und Weitergabe, ist das, was ich sehr faszinierend und von großer Bedeutung finde.
