Ready to Switch (2014)

The image captures a performative, symbolic and ritualistic act, created as a digitally composed photograph. It shows two figures of the artist: a smaller self emerging from below, reaching upward and touching the hand of a larger self, who is likewise reaching upward — both versions of the same body. Around the larger figure’s head appears a circular halo with arrows pointing inward and outward. The picture was created in the studio of the Institute for Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in 2014. It is the third part and a continuation of the ongoing and open-end 7-Year Series.

Ready to switch (2014)
Das Bild zeigt einen performativen, symbolischen und rituellen Akt, realisiert als digital komponierte Fotografie. Es zeigt zwei Figuren des Künstlers: ein kleineres Selbst, das von unten auftaucht, nach oben greift und die Hand eines größeren Selbst berührt, das ebenfalls nach oben strebt – beide Darstellungen desselben Körpers. Um den Kopf der größeren Figur erscheint ein kreisförmiger Heiligenschein mit nach innen und außen gerichteten Pfeilen. Die Aufnahme entstand 2014 im Studio des Instituts für Transmediale Kunst an der Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien. Es ist der dritte Teil und eine Fortsetzung der fortlaufenden und offen angelegten 7-Jahres-Serie.
