For this version of the Mediator, a circular copper disc with a diameter of 15 cm was integrated into the interior of a locker, secured with metal cables and wire tensioners. Through pre-drilled holes in the disc, various cords were knotted, hanging out of the locker and reaching all the way to the floor.
Visitors could take these cords into their hands, pull them taut, and set them vibrating like guitar strings. On the back of the copper disc, a contact microphone was mounted, converting the vibrations into electrical impulses. These impulses were then sent to a speaker positioned beneath the installation, which projected the sounds back into the room.
The up to five-meter-long, freely hanging cords allowed participants to move freely through the space, choosing their own position and determining the strength of the tension. This created an open field for sound experiments and physical movement.
In this version, up to twelve people could interact simultaneously – a collective play between proximity and distance, between physical pull and acoustic echo.

Für diese Version des Mediators wurde eine kreisförmige Kupferscheibe mit 15 cm Durchmesser in das Innere eines Spinds integriert – befestigt mit Metallseilen und Drahtspannern. Durch vorgebohrte Löcher in der Scheibe sind verschiedene Schnüre geknotet, die aus dem Spind heraushängen und bis zum Boden reichen.
Die Schnüre können von den Besucher*innen in die Hand genommen, gespannt und wie Gitarrensaiten in Schwingung versetzt werden. Auf der Rückseite der Kupferscheibe ist ein Kontaktmikrofon montiert, das die Schwingungen in elektrische Impulse umwandelt. Diese werden über einen unterhalb der Installation platzierten Lautsprecher als akustische Klänge in den Raum zurückgegeben.
Die bis zu fünf Meter langen, frei hängenden Schnüre eröffneten den Teilnehmer*innen die Möglichkeit, ihre Position im Raum zu variieren und die Stärke der Spannung individuell zu bestimmen. So entstand ein offenes Feld für Klangexperimente und Bewegungen.
In dieser Version war eine gleichzeitige Interaktion von bis zu zwölf Personen möglich – ein kollektives Spiel zwischen Nähe und Distanz, zwischen physischem Zug und akustischem Echo.
